APM PFQ APM Project Fundamentals Qualification Workshop Based Exam

Accredited by the Association of Project Management (APM), this course will provide you with enough understanding of the subject to give a better awareness of project management and the skills involved.

For anyone considering a career in project management or simply looking to improve their knowledge of the subject.


Description

Over the course of a 2-day workshop, you will learn to appreciate the difference between a project management environment and the ‘business as usual' operating environment. You will cover areas such as project planning, project life cycles and quality management. Communication will also be looked at, alongside teamwork models and the role of the leader.

Gaining this certification is an ideal stepping stone to more advanced certification, such as the APM project management qualification (APM PMQ).

The sessions will cover the principles of project management described in the APM syllabus. After passing the examination, delegates will understand the following outcomes:

  • project management and the operating environment
  • the project life cycle
  • the management structure by which projects operate
  • project management planning
  • project scope management
  • scheduling and resource management
  • risk management and issue management
  • project quality management
  • communication in the project environment
  • principles of leadership and teamwork

What's the outcome?

Having gained your introductory certificate, you will have a broad understanding of the tools, techniques and principles which underpin successful project delivery. You will understand the accepted terminology and be able to make a positive contribution to the project environment you are involved with.


What does it involve?

Led by accredited trainers with plenty of experience will help prepare you for the subsequent exam which is a multiple choice, closed book exam, lasting 1 hour and requiring a 60% pass mark.

This is an intensive course and requires around 10 hours of preparatory reading. In addition, during the workshop, delegates should be prepared to set aside time in the evening for further reading and mock exam questions.
