Level 3 Team Leader or Supervisor

Level 3 Team Leader or Supervisor

A Team leader or supervisor is a first line management role, with operational and project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role. You can find the institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education assessment plan here.

End Point Assessment

Teaching

Having completed a minimum of 12 months on programme training, the apprentice will deliver a presentation based on topics covered within the apprenticeship and a professional discussion underpinned by a PoE.

  • 01. Application

Once the Employer has decided to use the Academy4PM for the EPA of their learner, the Employer will be required to complete and submit the Academy4PM EPA Application Form which activates the EPA process and initiates EPA for the Apprentice.

  • 02. Submission

The EPA requires the submission of the PoE by the Apprentice to the Academy4PM at gateway in electronic form. If the Apprentice wishes to submit a full paper-based copy of the PoE, 3 copies will need to be provided. Delivery dates are agreed in advance between the Employer (or their representative) and us. At this stage a topic will be selected by the EPAO in which a presentation should be prepared on.

  • 03. Review

The PoE is reviewed by our IQA for completeness. The assessor panel, once selected and any identified conflicts of interest have been resolved, will review the PoE and presentation during this period. The Lead Assessor from the Academy4PM will guide the assessment process and prepare for the Presentation and Professional Discussion.

  • 04. Panel

The assessor panel will comprise at least one member, led by an Academy4PM assessor who will act as independent assessor. Other panel members may include representatives from the employer or learning provider free of any direct conflict of interest. The assessor panel will have:

    • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the apprenticeship standard
    • The ability to contextualise the relevant work-based project(s)
    • Current, relevant occupational knowledge and expertise, which has been gained through “hands on” experience in the profession within the last 5 years.

The Academy4PM assessor will have the final decision on grading.

  • 05. Assessment

The EPA consists of a 20 minute Presentation by the Apprentice followed by 30 minutes of Q & A, and a Professional Discussion which is supported by the PoE lasting 60 minutes. The Presentation and PoE will have been evaluated prior to the Presentation and Professional Discussion with questions developed to test the Apprentices understanding. The EPA will also provide a means of ensuring that the work completed by the Apprentice is their own.

Academy4PM End Point Assessment Process

Final Outcome

Once the Assessor has concluded both assessment methods, the Assessor will review and finalise their marks and provide the Academy4PM with an overall grading recommendation. All EPA methods must be passed for the EPA to be passed overall.

All EPA methods must be passed for the EPA to be passed overall.

To achieve a pass overall, the apprentice must achieve a pass in all assessment methods by meeting all the pass descriptors

Re-Assessment

Apprentices that do not achieve initial EPA will have the opportunity to re-sit/re-take. Re-sits/re-takes will not be offered to apprentices wishing to move from pass to distinction. An apprentice who fails an assessment method, and therefore the EPA in the first instance, will be required to re-sit or re-take any failed assessment method only and must be taken within 3 months of fail notification.
